Anything where it involves the Allies attacking a German Bunker gets my vote.

I've got a mental picture of what i'd do with the bunker system already

When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

I like the idea of switching the obvious and putting the Germans on the offensive. I suppose you could have it that the morning game is the Germans attacking the comms bunker and the afternoon Allies re-taking it. I am struggling to conceive of how things play out, given the restricted environment - I'm presuming one side would have to be established inside the bunker and the attackers come in from the ourside. That is to say, on a regular site you would normally have sides at opposite ends of the site and play to the middle.

ok, for arguements sake:

Germans already emplaced in several parts of the bunker/tunnel system. Allied infiltrators are set off from Point X, with a number of missions to accomplish, say:

Destroy/take the fuel dump, ammo store, comms room, map room, CO's office etc ect.

Regen points arent a problem, and neither is people camping, due to a: the sheer size of the place b: the layout. Medic rules will work well there.

Numbers wise. I'm thinking 40 MAX, plus the organisers.

My thoughts there were that it is a British Bunker system, so why not use it as such?

Well you better start to "give a shit" soldier... There's a war on, you know, and we need to know what the next operation will be!

That's what I mean Kermit - the game has to be set up with defenders inside awaiting attackers coming from outside. Hence the need to switch 'defending' team to an attacking role at some point...

But because we don't want to have to change the set dressing it has to remain the same place.

This kind of makes the D-Day plans scenario work perhaps...

Fallschrimjager (or whoever) attack, pushing a small defensive group out...

Then in the afternoon they have to escape with the plans... but there's a larger enemy force trying to stop them.

This could work well with the Germans as the defenders as well.

Hmmmmmmmm perhaps I didn't explain myself too well.

Allies start at Points A & B (their Infil point), Axis start at their Points A & B (give em fancy names if you want!). Then, its a simple fight for possession of key points. This way, it means we have no defending players in situ. BOTH teams have to attack. Of course, we can chuck in a few sub plots as well - just to keep things moving along nicely.

Hows that sound? (and gets away from the "attack/defend" thing), meaning we dont have to reverse after lunch.

Why was the bunker abandoned to start with? I'm sure we can come up with some story for it lol

Little sub plot idea. A group of four commandos are placed in one remote corner armed only with pistols & torches (they failed to locate their colaborators arms cache) and have to make their way to the rest of their group, avoiding enemy contact. Everyone else will be busy following the scenario plans. Commandos have a layout map but no clues as to location of either side's troops. Should be full of tension, even without firing a shot.

Sub plot idea:

A German general who has been using the bunker has been cut off from his bodyguard, his position is marked on a map. A small fireteam must seek him out at {point a} and exfiltrate to {point b} covertly. He must not fall into enemy hands.

(To fuck about with people's minds, we could give the same sub-plot to both teams at the same time)

(General can be a person or a dummy and cannot be killed, only captured and re-captured)

As an aside

If its Germans attacking can we write Brandenburg commandos into the plot at all, namely an attempt to get troops in with uk uniforms over their German kit.

Be quite cool if Matt and i can try and bluff our way in wearing denisons and red berets over full German unform

If we go down that route it may be best if we assign someone outside our group as the COs and us lot work as NPCs... (Non-Player Characters)

Also don't book yourselves in as british, not german.

To be honest though I reckon as with most double-agent type things it'll go to pot!

Anyway, we're getting too het up about the details of the scenario...

We need to work out a rough plan of what we intend so we can advertise it... then work out the details later.

Groovy, but let's try and work in a joint forces Allied side for full inclusion.

I never considered anything else!

D-Day plans work... both sides involved in the planning... so troops for both sides in residence.

:)

Assuming we're doing something thats D-Day related. Personally, I don't favour it. We need something neutral that both sides are attacking. I never liked "half time, change ends" games when playing, as it always feels like you're starting from Zero again.

Brits/Yanks/Canucks/Whatever-Allied-portrayal-people-are-doing-this-week vs Ze Germans, definitely. I can guarantee that those who "went British" for Arnhem will be itching to get the Yank gear out again.
